Growing up in the Midwest, there were many windy days on the prairie that I dreamed of being a cowboy. My imagination took me to lush landscapes with gardens full of magic. Little Cowboy Jill’s fearless fashion sense and her What’s Next? stance continues to inspire me.

Gardens and summer are still one of my favorite places to escape. Some of my gardens are indeed magical and some are not. Every year I cannot wait for the first few zinnias to pop then squeal with true delight when I discover a tiny nestled tree frog. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

It is this unexplainable joy I feel for nature along with its patterns and mysteries that infuses my art. Color captures the energy of wonder. Curiosity fuels whimsical What Ifs? My reactions, questions and untold stories fill my compositions with symbolism and resolve.

I work in acrylics, alcohol inks, colored pencils, oil and chalk pastels.

I continue to squeal, wear hats and respond with grateful observation to the world that informs my art.
